Blue Ridge Parkway 2012
Read MoreWhite Water Falls has a height of approximately 400 feet. It has a moderate water flow and is located in the Nantahala National Forest. On a scale of 1 to 10 several authors have given it a score of 10 and I would have to agree with them. It is about a quarter of a mile hike on a series of steps to the observation deck which yields the best place for photographing this falls. I shot this using the Nikon D600 with the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. The focal length was set on 70mm. The Aperture was f/16, Shutter at 1/30 of a second, and ISO at 100. I shot in manual and metered in matrix. That is Nikon's language for averaging the whole scene taking into account all light and dark contrasts. For landscape I almost always shot manual focus.
