Blue Ridge Parkway 2012
Read MoreBridal Veil Falls located in the Nantahala National Forest in Macon County, North Carolina is a roadside waterfalls. Although the road goes around the walls there is also a road artery that allows motorist to drive under the falls. It has a very small water flow and does not capture the grandeur of larger falls but another challenge to photograph especially with the afternoon sun shining on it. You will note in this picture the rainbow created from the mist of water and sun. Nikon D600, 24-70mm f/2.8 lens set at a focal length of 44mm. Aperture at f/10. Shutter speed of 1/80 and 1/20 of a second and ISO of 200. I blended two exposures on at 1/80 of a second and one at 1/20 of a second. I shoot manual and it is easy for me to capture a series of under/over exposed shots simply by increasing or decreasing the light or in this case the shutter speed. For those reading this post and new to photography the 1/80 of a second reduced the amount of light reaching the sensor causing the shot to be underexposed.
