Read MoreLinville Falls is rate 9 out of 10 for beauty. One of the most visited and maybe the most interesting falls in the state. It consists of a short upper fall with a nearly level cascade leading to the lower falls and then shoots out into a gorge. Used in the film "The Last of The Mohicans". From the Blue Ridge Parkway, take the road to the visitor center and parking area that is located between Mileposts 316 and 317, one mile north of US 221. The parking area is about 1.5 miles from the parkway. To get to the location for a head-on photo shot is approximately 1 mile. From hear you can shoot straight in to the series of upper falls. However, to get this shot a 200 or 300mm lens is best because it is a far distance from where you will standing. Taken with the Nikon D600 using a Nikon 24-70mm lens with a focal length setting of 70mm. Aperture f/16, Shutter Speed 1/50 of a second and ISO at 1000.
