Welcome to my Yellowstone 2016 Vacation Journal. This is a pictorial journal of my trip in October of 2016. These images are not intended as fine art presentations, although a few will be reprocessed and displayed in my fine art gallery and offered for sale. Yellowstone encompasses 3 million acres and the figure eight road only covers about 10% of the park. Each year I try to stay in a different section of the park. This trip I stayed at the north gate at Gardiner, MT. Gardiner is part of the migration route for Elk, Pronghorn, and Big Horn Sheep. Grizzly Bears forage for berries just north of Gardiner toward Livingston. Although we saw a pair we were told there were as many as 18 at one time forging on berries and roots on a berry patch that was created by a local rancher to keep the bears away from his cattle. It appears fields are planted to provide sustenance for the migrating herds and as such they are less skittish around cars and people.Read More
